Father David Meinzen
Father David is our University Chaplain. He is a canonically approved married priest of the Byzantine Catholic Rite, with a supportive wife and three lovely daughters. He has been granted faculties by Bishop Kevin Rhoades to serve both Byzantine and Roman liturgical rites in the diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend.
After a two-year, post-seminary diaconate, he was ordained to the priesthood in 2000 and served as an Eastern Orthodox parish rector for nine years. He further brings with him over 15 years of training and experience as an Army National Guard chaplain (two on active duty, with time spent in Afghanistan), part-time VA chaplaincy work and intensive clinical hospital chaplain training at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication and theater, with a psychology minor, from Concordia University, River Forest, Ill.; a Master of Divinity from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., with Master of Theology coursework completed at St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, Crestwood, N.Y.; and an associate degree from the Physical Therapist Assistant program of our own USF School of Health Sciences. Sister Gayle Rusbasan OSF
Sister Gayle is our Campus Minister Assistant. She has a bachelor degree in Theology/Philosophy from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Ind.; a master degree in English/Linguistics from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind.; and a master degree in Theology from USF. She is a Franciscan Sister of the Sacred Heart. She enjoys hosting Campus Ministry gatherings and chatting with students. She has a listening ear and a gentle heart plus a wonderful sense of humor. Sister Gayle’s office is in the Campus Ministry Center.

Kim is our administrative assistant. She is warm, friendly and always willing to help. She is the mother of six, so if you need some good mom advice, you can ask her. Kim enjoys seeing students when they stop by the Campus Ministry Center. She’ll send you on your way with a smile and blessings.
