Office of Service and Social Action

Faith and service go hand-in-hand, especially on a Catholic and Franciscan campus like ours. Here at the University of Saint Francis, service is in the very fabric of what we do and in the fall of 2010, we opened the Office of Service and Social Action to provide you with even more service opportunities! The Office of Service and Social Action provides local opportunities to serve, as well as summer service programs.

Campus Ministry Service

Alternative Spring Break Trip

In 2008, Campus Ministry began sponsoring a trip during Spring Break.  This Alternative Spring Break sends students for a week of service to rural Kentucky through the  Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) WorkFest.

The dates this year are March 8-13, 2015. The group will be led down to Kentucky by two USF employees who will serve alongside the students.

Highlights include:

  • Housing assistance (repair, painting, roofing, siding, windows, doors, walls) in Eastern Kentucky
  • Fellowship
  • Life-changing friendships
  • Foot-stomping bluegrass

The cost per person is subsidized by Campus Ministry, so each person only has to pay $100. This includes transportation, lodging and all food. If you are interested, please email Kim Rockett no later than January 31, 2015.
